Securing packages with standard stretch film from Supra-Ratiopac
Our wrapping film meets professional requirements as it is stretchable, flexible and robust enough to give pallets the necessary protection and stability for transport. Because of the transparency of the films it is possible to read barcodes with optical readers and to identify pallets even after they have been packaged ready for shipment. One-sided adhesion prevents several pallets standing close to each other from sticking together, and thus making loading and unloading unnecessarily difficult. Finding the right standard stretch film is very easy
At this point we would like to explain to you how to use our product descriptions to find exactly the film you need. Stretchplus BASIC HC17, for example, is a handheld film in cast quality with a thickness of 17 µ. The name is composed as follows:
- Stretchplus: the brand name of our film
- BASIC: specific product name of our film
- H: in this case stands for hand film. Machine films would be marked with an M at this position.
- C: stands for cast quality (as with all our standard hand stretch films). Other film types are also available in blown quality (B).
- 17: The number at the end of a product name indicates the thickness of the film (in this case 17 µ). We offer standard hand-stretch films in thicknesses up to 23 µ.
Standard hand stretch film for all requirements
Our standard hand-stretch film is characterised by being particularly resistant and robust. This makes it a reliable means of securing commissioned packages that has been tried and tested in countless companies. Depending on the requirements you have towards our product, different versions can be the best choice. The film for standard requirements is sufficient for neatly stacked pallets where the weight of the packages is within the normal range. If the individual packages are stacked rather untidily and deviate upwards in weight, it is advisable to switch to film for high requirements. If, on the other hand, heavy and very heavy packages are being shipped, or if a pallet can only be stacked untidily, stretch film for very high requirements should be used to ensure safe transport.
Transparent and black standard stretch film
In our offer you will find different versions of standard hand stretch film. These differ, for example, with regard to the film thickness, which ranges from 17 to 23 µ in our case. In addition to transparent versions, black films are also available, which can be used wherever it is important to package or secure goods opaquely. But the coloured films also offer a further advantage: with designs in different colours, you can make pallets much easier distinguishable from each other. Simply specify in advance for which loads you want to use the black version, for example, and there will be no confusion. We can supply you with a maximum of 300 metres of film per roll in a width of 500 millimetres (equivalent to 50 centimetres or 0.5 metres).
Manual wrapping: the advantages of standard hand stretch film

The advantage of manual stretch wrapping, i.e. wrapping pallets with stretch film by hand, is its flexibility and low cost. It can be done directly on the spot, without having to move the pallet to an appropriate machine first. Only the use of wrapping film gives the individual packages the stability they need for transport. Our standard hand stretch film is particularly useful for products with low own weight, as these find very little hold on the pallet without effective securing.
What does standard stretch film achieve?
Our standard hand stretch film is a proven means of securing picked goods onto pallets. The tight wrapping of all packages fixes them to the pallet and protects them against slipping and falling. At the same time, hand stretch film offers effective protection against various external influences to which the goods may be exposed during transport. Hand stretch film must not only be tear resistant, but also puncture resistant. Only then can angular or tapered packages be optimally secured. Films of lower quality, however, can tear quickly. The result: individual packages can fall off the pallet and be damaged. Furthermore, moisture could penetrate and soften the packaging. Hand stretch film from Supra-Ratiopac – reliable, tried and tested
All standard hand stretch films that you can order from us have been produced in cast quality. In the extrusion of cast film, the plastic melt does not exit from a ring-shaped nozzle, but from a wide-slit nozzle. The product is then fed parallel to the hall floor to a chill roll where it is cooled down accordingly. This also creates the monoaxial orientation of this special film.
